The Mosaic Rooms, A.M. Qattan Foundation, invite you to attend an event celebrating the Abraaj Capital Art Prize (ACAP) on Thursday 7th July 2011 held as part of Shubbak: A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture.

The evening serves as the global launch of Footnote to a Project*, created and conceived by ACAP 2011 guest curator, Sharmini Pereira and design studio OK-RM in collaboration with the 2011 winning artists Hamra Abbas, Jananne Al-Ani, Shezad Dawood, Nadia Kaabi-Linke and Timo Nasseri.  The book features images, citations and references that support and inform the creation of the five artworks.

Our host, Omar Al-Qattan will introduce a panel discussion focusing on ACAP and opportunities for artists in the Arab World with ACAP curators Laura Egerton, Leyla Fakhr (2009) and Sharmini Pereira (2011) and winning artist Jananne Al-Ani, chaired by Jessica Morgan (The Daskalopoulos Curator, International Art, Tate & member of the 2012 ACAP Selection Committee).
